Why notary matters for "getting your affairs in order"

Most of the documents in a comprehensive affairs-in-order plan need notarization: powers of attorney, advance directives, wills, and often trust documents. Getting these done correctly — with a notary who understands what you're doing and why — means the documents work when they need to.

Because Duane works across preneed, insurance, estate planning support, and notary services, he often notarizes documents for clients he's already working with — and can come to the home at the same time other planning conversations are happening.

Important: What notary services are not

Notary services do not constitute legal advice or legal representation. Duane cannot draft legal documents, advise on their content, or explain what legal terms mean.

North Carolina real estate closings require a licensed NC attorney to conduct the closing. Duane serves as a document signing agent — he can witness and notarize signatures on closing documents but cannot conduct the legal closing itself.

If you need a document drafted or legal advice, Duane can refer you to appropriate counsel.
